MARION PAUL – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Marion Paul joined the Equinox Center in February 2009 as its first executive director.
Marion has an extensive policy background, serving as senior policy analyst in the Colorado Governor’s Office, executive director of Jobs for Colorado’s Future, and as public affairs manager at the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. Her background includes work on planning the Denver International Airport, developing regional cooperation, and assessing the cumulative impacts of multiple large projects in the Denver region.
Marion most recently served as Executive Vice President of Junior Achievement of San Diego, and was instrumental in creating the nationally recognized JA BizTown. During her tenure, she substantially expanded both the breadth and depth of programming, ultimately more than doubling the constituency served.
Marion is currently a board member of the San Diego Social Venture Partners, a member of the San Diego Women’s Foundation, and a member of the PLNU School of Business Advisory Committee. Marion holds a BA in Political Science and a BS in Geology from the University of Illinois.
ANN TARTRE – PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Ann Tartre joined the Equinox Center as its Program Director in May 2009. Prior to joining Equinox, Ann was the Executive Director of Avoided Deforestation Partners, a non-profit group working to establish policies that prevent tropical deforestation and mitigate climate change. Previous to her tenure at ADP, Ann was the Director of the San Diego-based US-Mexico Border Philanthropy Partnership, a network of foundations on both sides of the border that aims to improve quality of life in the border region.
Before working on the border, Ann’s career focused primarily on sustainable development and conservation themes. As the Director of Donor Services at the Maine Community Foundation, she managed all the foundation’s funds focused on conservation and economic and community development. Ann also has worked as a grants officer for the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe based in Hungary.
Ann's policy experience includes being a legislative aide for U.S. Senator George J. Mitchell in Washington, DC, focusing on national environmental and energy issues. Ms. Tartre holds a BA in International Relations and French from Tufts University, and a Masters degree from the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies at Yale University.
