Reprint, reuse, and recycle our publications, graphics, and tools--free of charge.
As the title suggests, Equinox's work--including our graphics and reports--is free to use. We encourage you to use it freely and share it widely! Our aim is to be a one-stop-shop for good thinking on how to build healthy, lasting prosperity in the San Diego region.
Overview
Equinox Center holds copyrights to its reports, articles, weblog posts, maps, charts, graphs, tables, animations, and all other original content found on the Equinox website, unless otherwise noted.
We encourage your use and distribution of this work, and ask only that you attribute it to Equinox (i.e. give us credit), and that you do not modify or use our work for commercial purposes without our permission. We also ask that in cases where our written permission is not required, you drop us a note at info@equinoxcenter.org letting us know how you’re using our work. Details are below.

By downloading our work, you agree to the following policy and as such are free to copy, distribute, and display Equinox's work, subject to the following conditions:
Attribution
You must attribute the work you are using to Equinox Center. This attribution, or notice of copyright, may be in the form of our logo or in text form similar to the following:
“From [title of report, article, blog post, or web page], by [author or Equinox Center], copyright [year] Equinox Center, San Diego; used with permission.”
If you are posting the work online, you must include a link back to where the work is posted on the Equinox website, or otherwise to www.equinoxcenter.org.
Noncommercial vs. commercial use
You may use our work for noncommercial use. If you would like to use it for commercial purposes (e.g. in a book, online or magazine or newspaper, fee-based website, or in support of any other commercial venture), you may ask for written permission from Equinox Center (see "Permission" below).
Derivative works
You may use only verbatim copies or excerpts of our work, not derivative or modified versions of it.
Maps, charts, and other graphics
Our maps, charts, tables, animations, and other graphics are available for free download. You may distribute and display these electronically and in print for non-commercial purposes without our written permission, though please let us know how you are using our work.
Text-based work
Our reports, articles, blog posts, and other original written work are available for free viewing or download on our websites, with appropriate credits.
Permission
While Equinox does not charge for use of its copyrights, we do require permission in some cases (see above). To obtain permission, please send an email to info@equinoxcenter.org.
Keep Equinox Center informed
While we do not require permission for most uses of our work, we do like to know how it's being used so that we can continue to create effective tools for education and advocacy. Please drop us a note at info@equinoxcenter.org to let us know how you are using our work, and what else you'd like to see.
